Job summary

BHE Renewables is seeking a Real Estate and Permitting Specialist to manage access, acquisition, and divestiture of land, leases, and real estate rights for project financing.

The role requires handling land-related issues with various departments, ensuring compliance with regulations and corporate policies, and maintaining strong relationships with landowners and third parties across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience; typically six years of related, progressive work experience if no degree.
• Six years of experience or training and knowledge of right of way, surveying principles, contract and real estate law.
• Skills and expertise in real estate law, real estate appraisal, land surveying principles, state codes and administrative rules for utility facilities permitting, zoning rules and processes, and negotiation/persuasion.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate land-based transactions and participate in land-related strategy; evaluate acquisitions and divestitures; conduct due diligence.
• Develop policies for land acquisition rights of way and disposal; manage site acquisition projects; maintain contractor files and permits.
• Represent the company to landowners, agencies, and other parties; present to permitting authorities; act as expert witness as needed.
• Evaluate leases, options, and related agreements; coordinate drafting of land-related documents and management review.
• Participate in permitting to obtain exploration permits and supervise contractors for reclamation requirements; ensure approvals before execution.
• Perform additional responsibilities as requested.
