Job summary

CMS is seeking an experienced Real Estate Paralegal to join our Legal Services Unit across UK offices including Glasgow, Manchester, Sheffield, Liverpool, Bristol or Edinburgh. The role supports energy and utilities clients with English law transactions, including easements, wayleaves, options and variations, and purchases and leases of sub-stations and sites.

You will manage a busy caseload, draft acquisition documents, perform title reviews, and ensure AML compliance while working with data

Qualifications

• Degree in law or equivalent qualification, or working towards CILEX.
• Experience as a Real Estate paralegal.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Ability to handle a large workload and work in a team.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a busy caseload of transactions and liaise with the client to obtain instructions.
• Draft acquisition documentation, negotiate with the counterparty to the transaction and carry out title reviews.
• Assist with file opening procedures including preparing first draft of retainer letter and ensuring compliance with money laundering regulations.
• Work with data rooms and online trackers.
• Manage completion and post-completion registrations, forms, filing and client signing / reporting requirements.
