This in-office position, based in Raleigh, supports a prominent busy law firm and its Real Estate group. It is an excellent opportunity for an experienced paralegal who is organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced environment while supporting attorneys on a variety of commercial real estate and development matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, prepare, and organize closing documents, closing statements, and closing binders while coordinating document signing and closing activities
- Conduct title examinations and research property records, ownership details, transaction histories, and restrictions affecting the use of assigned properties
- Prepare and file UCC financing statements and amendments, review and plot legal descriptions, and assist with other real estate documentation
- Obtain and review maps, surveys, drawings, title documents, and other property-related records from surveyors, assessors, title companies, and government offices
- Prepare reports related to title commitments, title insurance, real estate transfers, and other transactional matters
- Provide day-to-day support to attorneys and the Real Estate and Commercial Development practice group, while assisting with additional projects and duties as needed
Qualifications
- 1–3+ years of paralegal experience, preferably in a law firm or legal environment
- Real estate or transactional experience and billing software strongly preferred
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal software
