Jobtailor is seeking a Real Estate Paralegal to support the Legal Department in evaluating, drafting, and negotiating real estate agreements for renewable energy projects, with focus on title issues, financing, and project diligence.
You will work closely with attorneys to prepare documents, review title commitments, and manage risk across a growing energy portfolio. Expect independent work, deadlines, and travel up to 10%.
• Report to the Senior Director of Real Estate and Compliance and receive assignments from the Senior Real Estate Manager and Legal Department attorneys
• Prepare standard real estate documentation, including amendments, PSAs, options, easements, NDAs, and SNDAs
• Review title commitments, title reports, surveys, related exceptions, and documentation
• Identify potential and actual risks and impediments to project development
• Recommend risk mitigation and/or elimination measures
• Assist attorneys with negotiation of standard-form leases, easements, and purchase agreements
• Procure non-disturbance agreements from landowner mortgage lenders, tenant farmers, other solar developers, and mineral owners
• Procure encroachment agreements and consents to improvements from utility providers
• Draft, proof, and revise documents as requested by the Director
• Advise business units on risks posed by real estate encumbrances and similar matters
• Perform legal research as requested
• Complete other tasks assigned by the Director, Senior Manager, or attorneys
• Work independently and meet scheduled completion dates in a fast-paced, growing company
• Travel approximately 10%
Demonstrates expertise in real estate documentation, risk assessment, and legal compliance within the renewable energy sector, particularly solar energy. Proficient in drafting and negotiating legal agreements while ensuring adherence to title insurance policies and financing transactions.
