Job summary

Valley Bank is seeking a Real Estate Loan Assistant to support multiple lenders with documentation, loan processing, and client communications. The role requires strong customer service skills and a solid understanding of real estate lending processes.

You will work in a collaborative environment, handling scheduling, documentation preparation, and process improvements while ensuring compliance with applicable banking regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 5 years of banking experience preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of loan assistant experience required.
• Experience in Mortgage Lending preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of CRA, HMDA, Fair Lending, and lending compliance requirements preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interface with customers, schedule appointments, and maintain relationships.
• Prepare documentation for Real Estate loans, title, appraisal, worksheet, system, and set up files.
• Manage all paperwork in department and create a process for team members to follow to ensure efficiency.
• Manage incoming and outgoing phone calls and email communications.
• Assist with applications and documents for lenders and clients.
• Assist the Real Estate Department on marketing programs.
• Adhere to policy and regulatory requirements (BSA/AML, GLBA/privacy, OFAC).
• Maintain confidentiality and professional conduct.
