Job summary

Miller Johnson seeks a motivated Real Estate Litigation Attorney to join our Real Estate Practice Group in Grand Rapids, Detroit, or Kalamazoo. This role focuses on complex land use, zoning, and development matters across Michigan, including renewable energy and municipal projects.

Qualifications

JD from an accredited law school.
Active license to practice law in Michigan (or eligibility).
2+ years in commercial real estate, land use, zoning, energy & sustainability, municipal law, or related areas.

Responsibilities

Advise clients on zoning, land use and development matters and related entitlements.
Support real estate and renewable energy development through due diligence and regulatory review.
Draft and negotiate development-related agreements and transactional documents.
Collaborate with planners, engineers, consultants, and attorneys to support client objectives.
Represent clients before planning commissions, zoning boards and municipal bodies.
Assist with land use disputes and regulatory matters as needed.
Manage multiple projects and deadlines with strong organization and communication.
Participate in client development and community engagement opportunities.
