Job summary

A New Leaf is seeking a Director of Real Estate in Mesa, AZ to provide leadership over the organization’s real estate portfolio, facilities operations, and asset management. This role partners with executive leadership to shape long-term property strategies and ensure safe, well-maintained properties aligned with program needs.

The position oversees capital planning, construction, and third-party management, with responsibilities across acquisitions, LIHTC, HUD, HOME, and CDBG funded projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field is required or preferred.
• 7–10 years of leadership experience in real estate, facilities management, asset management, or related areas.
• Experience with affordable housing initiatives and funding programs (LIHTC, HUD, HOME, CDBG) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the organization’s real estate portfolio across owned, leased, and program properties.
• Develop asset management strategies to support long-term stewardship of assets.
• Oversee facilities operations, preventive maintenance, maintenance priorities, and vendor services.
• Coordinate capital planning, budgets, and project prioritization with Finance and Operations.
• Manage third-party property management partners and monitor performance and contracts.
• Lead multi-site capital improvement, renovations, and construction projects with stakeholders.
