Job summary

Ares Management Corporation seeks a Real Estate Equity Associate to join its U.S. private equity real estate platform. You will underwrite acquisitions, perform due diligence, and help manage assets across industrial, multifamily, office, retail, and hotel sectors.

The role emphasizes developing financial models, market analysis, and collaboration with sponsors and investment colleagues. Travel and strong communication are essential as you grow into sourcing deals and building industry

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Real Estate or related field with exceptional academic credentials
• 2-4 years of finance experience in real estate investment banking or real estate private equity preferred
• High level of Excel expertise; ARGUS proficiency helpful but not required
• Self-motivated, able to thrive in a fast-moving, demanding environment
• Willingness and ability to travel required
• Expertise in PowerPoint
• Creative problem solver with strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail and impeccable integrity and trustworthiness

Responsibilities

• Create detailed and complex financial underwriting models for real estate investments
• Perform asset-level and market-level due diligence
• Understand deal capital structure and business plan, risks and potential issues
• Evaluate physical characteristics and competitive positioning of properties
• Assess operating characteristics: revenue, expenses, capex, tenant credit, leases
• Gather market information and synthesize projections for rents, absorption, vacancy, liquidity
• Assess execution ability of development teams for projects
• Prepare narratives for senior management and participate in Underwriting and Investment Committee discussions
• Support ongoing asset management including financing, refinancing, and eventual sales
• Review legal documentation with team and counsel during negotiations
