Job summary

Housing Trust Group (HTG) is seeking an experienced Development Staff Accountant focused on real estate development, particularly in low-income housing tax credit projects. The role collaborates with project managers, finance teams and operations to ensure accurate financial data and timely reporting.

Responsibilities include maintaining ledgers, preparing draw packages, reviewing budgets, and supporting audits while ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent business experience in accounting.
• 2+ years in construction/real estate development accounting.
• Preference for low-income housing tax credit experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain general ledger entries for development projects.
• Prepare financial reports including budget vs. actual analysis.
• Prepare monthly construction loan draw requisitions.
• Reconcile accounts and ensure timely problem resolution.
• Assist audit schedules and support auditors during audits.
• Ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policies.
