Job summary

KeyBank is seeking a Compliance Officer to join the Real Estate Lending and Enterprise Default team within Compliance Risk Management in Ohio. You will research, interpret, and apply the assigned laws and regulations to each applicable business process and system, providing consultative compliance guidance to multiple lines of business.

The role includes second line of defense oversight, policy review, and independent challenge of activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Juris Doctorate or CRCM preferred.
• 3 years of experience in financial services audit or compliance, bank regulator, or equivalent.
• Knowledge of RESPA, TILA, FDCPA, FCRA, ECOA, FDPA, SCRA, HPA, UDAAP and other consumer protection regulations, including state-specific requirements.
• Understanding of internal controls, risk assessments and compliance processes.
• Established relationship management skills and ability to work in a team.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Strong research and analytical skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the corporate compliance SME for assigned lines or regulations.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of banking/consumer compliance laws and regulations and apply them to risk management strategies.
• Develop relationships of trust with the lines of business.
• Provide second line of defense oversight and monitoring of processes and controls, identify improvements and facilitate changes.
• Document testing results in concise management reports.
• Review policies and procedures for regulatory alignment.
• Educate and provide consultative advice on various regulations.
• Provide independent review and challenge to business activities.
• Participate in projects related to mitigating risk to Key.
• Ensure systems used by lines of business operate compliantly.
