Job summary

Baltimore Development Corporation (BDC) is the City of Baltimore’s economic development agency focused on inclusive growth and revitalization. The Economic Development Officer – Real Estate coordinates development projects, analyzes markets, and engages with stakeholders to advance neighborhood investment across Baltimore.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Real Estate, Economics, Public Policy, or related field.
• 3–5 years in economic development, real estate development, or community development.
• Knowledge of zoning, land use, and municipal approval processes.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data tracking tools.
• Experience working with public, private, or nonprofit stakeholders.
• Knowledge of Baltimore’s economic and civic landscape is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Support commercial and mixed-use real estate development projects from early planning through implementation
• Assist with developer coordination, project tracking, and milestone management
• Conduct preliminary feasibility analyses, market research, and financial reviews
• Support zoning, permitting, and municipal approval processes
• Prepare briefing materials, reports, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders
