Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Real Estate Attorney to join our Dover, Delaware office on-site in a permanent capacity. The role focuses on building and leading a commercial litigation practice with a steady stream of referred matters and real ownership of cases.

The ideal candidate will have a JD, active Delaware Bar membership, and several years of commercial litigation experience, including contract disputes and real property claims. Strong writing and advocacy are essential.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Active Delaware Bar membership in good standing (Maryland or Pennsylvania is a plus).
• Several years of commercial litigation experience, including contract disputes, business and partnership conflicts, and real property related claims.
• Experience handling matters from pleading through discovery, motion practice, and trial or settlement.

Responsibilities

• Lead and build a litigation practice in Dover, managing a caseload independently.
• Oversee matters from pleadings through discovery, motions, and trial or settlement.
• Develop and maintain client relationships and take ownership of matters.
• Collaborate with transactional attorneys to support firm growth and a collegial culture.

Build and lead a litigation practice at a fast growing Delaware law firm, with a ready flow of referred matters, real ownership of your cases, and a collegial team behind you.

Our client is an established, privately held law firm that has grown quickly across Delaware over the past several years. The firm has multiple offices throughout the state and also serves clients in neighboring jurisdictions. Its practice centers on property transactions, closings, entity formation, and estate and bankruptcy matters. It is now building out a dispute resolution capability in its Dover office and wants a commercial litigator to lead that effort. The firm is known for responsive service, a collegial culture, and clients who come back and refer others.
