Job summary

Hawkstone Search is seeking a Commercial Real Estate Attorney (Leasing) in New York for a Senior Associate/Non-Equity Partner track. The role combines high-value leasing work with client contact, a hybrid schedule, and a strong compensation package of $200,000 to $345,000 base plus bonuses.

You will draft and negotiate leases for landlord and tenant clients across retail, office, industrial, and specialty properties, managing transactions end-to-end with limited supervision and collaborating

Qualifications

• 5+ years of sophisticated commercial leasing experience.
• Excellent drafting and negotiation skills across asset classes.
• New York State Bar admission in good standing required.
• Ability to independently manage complex transactions and client relationships.
• Comfort working with limited supervision and taking ownership from start to finish.

Responsibilities

• Draft and negotiate sophisticated commercial leases for landlord and tenant clients across retail, office, industrial, and other properties in New York.
• Independently manage leasing transactions from inception to execution with limited supervision.
• Serve as primary client contact and provide practical, business-oriented legal advice.
• Collaborate with transactional, land use, finance, and litigation teams on multi-disciplinary matters.
• Advise institutional owners, developers, investors, and tenants on high-value leasing structures.

The firm represents sophisticated owners, developers, investors, and commercial tenants on high-value leasing, transactional, regulatory, and litigation matters. It is widely regarded for its deep commercial leasing expertise across all major asset classes, strong institutional client relationships, and a collaborative, hands-on culture.

What You'll Be Doing

• Draft and negotiate sophisticated commercial leases for both landlord and tenant clients, covering retail, office, industrial, restaurant, healthcare, and specialty-use properties throughout New York and nationally
• Independently manage leasing transactions from inception through execution with limited supervision
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and provide practical, business-oriented legal advice
• Collaborate across the firm's transactional, land use, finance, and litigation teams on multi-disciplinary matters
• Handle complex deal structures and advise institutional owners, developers, investors, and commercial tenants on high-value leasing matters

• Strong academic credentials and New York State Bar admission in good standing required
