Job summary

BH Properties, a private commercial real estate investment firm, seeks an Associate General Counsel in Dallas, TX to lead legal support for acquisitions, leasing, and corporate matters. The role reports to the Chief Legal Officer and President, coordinating with senior department heads to advance strategic growth.

Qualifications

• Law degree and admitted in good standing with a state bar, preferably Texas.
• Continue bar license through CLE with focus on real estate, construction, financing, and corporate law.
• 5–7 years of legal experience in commercial real estate, acquisitions, leasing, and compliance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
• Experience leading teams in growth environments.
• Maintaining confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Asset Management on lease transactions.
• Draft and negotiate leases, LOIs, subleases, amendments, and related documents.
• Advise on legal risks in acquisitions, financing, and leasing matters.
• Liaise with outside counsel when appropriate.
• Manage lease contract approvals and interactions with government agencies and lenders.
• Maintain and distribute real estate legal documents and templates.
• Develop Policies and Procedures for real estate documents.
