This role involves handling a diverse portfolio of real estate disputes and transactions, from litigation to consulting on deals and agreements. The position is ideal for a candidate with a strong foundation in civil litigation and a desire to build deep subject matter expertise in real estate matters within a collaborative and process-driven environment.
Duties:
Manage a caseload involving:
Real estate-related consumer litigation (e.g., non-disclosure, misrepresentation, breach of fiduciary duty)
Property boundary and ownership disputes
Land-use and easement matters
Draft and review legal documents such as:
Lease agreements
Easements
Business formation records
Corporate contracts and transactional materials
Represent clients in legal settings, including:
Court hearings
Mediations
Depositions
Oversee legal discovery and drafting responsibilities:
Draft and respond to pleadings and motions
Handle dispositive motions and pre-trial filings
Maintain clear and regular communication with clients regarding case status and strategic advice
Provide leadership and delegate work effectively to legal support staff
Track and meet billable hour expectations in a timely, professional manner
Requirements:
1-3 years of litigation experience, with preference for real estate-related practice
Solid legal research, writing, and analytical skills
Experience in client advisory and courtroom representation
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, tech-enabled legal environment
Knowledge of California procedural rules and court systems
Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited institution
Certifications:
Must be an active member in good standing with the California State Bar
Skills:
Legal drafting and litigation strategy
Strong oral and written advocacy
Familiarity with legal software and communication tools, including:
G Suite
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
Zoom and DialPad
Experience with trial preparation, mediations, and arbitration is a plus
Exposure to both litigation and transactional real estate law
Ability to manage staff and collaborate cross-functionally
