Job Overview:
A respected law firm is seeking a mid-level associate to join its Real Estate, Energy, Environmental & Land Use practice in Costa Mesa. This partnership-track opportunity is ideal for a candidate with strong transactional real estate experience, including purchase and sale, financing, and joint venture agreements. The firm handles multibillion-dollar transactions across a wide range of property types and jurisdictions. This role offers hands-on involvement in sophisticated deals and collaboration with experienced real estate attorneys representing major developers, investors, and lenders.

Location:

Duties:

1. Structure and negotiate real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, and joint ventures
2. Represent borrowers in real estate financing transactions
3. Draft and review transactional documents for diverse real estate matters
4. Collaborate with partners, clients, and other attorneys to meet deal objectives
5. Manage projects from inception to closing with minimal supervision
6. Assist clients in achieving strategic and legal goals on complex real estate matters

Requirements:

1. 2–4 years of transactional real estate experience
2. Demonstrated proficiency in purchase and sale agreements, borrower-side financing, and joint ventures
3. Prior experience in a large law firm real estate practice strongly preferred
4. Willingness and ability to take ownership of projects and client relationships
5. Strong interest in pursuing a long-term career in real estate law

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

Active membership in the California State Bar
