Job summary

Norfolk Southern seeks a Real Estate/Asset Management professional to assist in planning, managing, and controlling real estate activities across a multi-territory team. You will help set priorities, coordinate activities, and maximize return on assets while serving internal and external customers.

Preferred candidates have 3–5 years of related experience and a Bachelor’s degree, with strong Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills.

Responsibilities

• Supports negotiation and execution of land sales, leases, and licenses, including private grade crossings.
• Assists in optimizing utility and profitability of NS‑owned real estate assets.
• Maintains contact with developers, brokers, appraisers, and governmental agencies.
• Keeps properties in the team’s territory under review for value and utilization input.
• Assists in inspecting properties to ensure environmental and contractual compliance.
• Ensures transactions follow internal controls and processes.
• Supports development and training of all team members.
