Job summary

Harbor Group International seeks an Asset Management Analyst to support a diverse real estate portfolio across multifamily, mixed-use, and commercial properties nationwide. You will collaborate with Asset Management, Property Management, Investor Relations, Transactions, and Accounting to provide analytical and administrative support.

The role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in MS Excel and Argus DCF, and a proactive, team-oriented mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus 1 to 2 years of real estate and/or finance experience.
• Superior analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills.
• An investment mindset with a thorough understanding of financial calculations such as NPV, DCF, and IRR.
• Proficiency with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Argus DCF required.
• Experience with Yardi, OPS Technology, Axiometrics, and/or LRO is a plus.
• Good written and verbal presentation and communication skills.
• A team player who can operate effectively within a matrix management environment.
• Ability to travel up to 10%, either by driving an automobile or commercial flying.

Responsibilities

• Provide asset and portfolio-level financial analysis and market research supporting Asset Managers and Portfolio Managers.
• Assist with hold/sell analyses and transactional support for dispositions and refinancing.
• Develop knowledge of properties, loan documents, and leases to assist with general responsibilities.
• Support commercial leasing, including lease proposal analysis and tenant/broker coordination.
• Participate in regular calls to review portfolio and property performance.
• Support monthly and quarterly reporting activities to executives, investors, lenders and other constituencies.

Analyst, Asset Management (Direct Equity)

Location: Norfolk, VA

Job Summary: Harbor Group International owns and operates a diversified portfolio of multifamily and commercial properties across the United States. As an Asset Management Analyst, you will be expected to provide analytical and administrative support for various asset management functions across the company’s real estate investment portfolio, including both multifamily, mixed use, and commercial assets. While working closely with the Asset Management team, you will interact with other corporate teams, including Property Management, Investor Relations, Transactions, and Accounting.

Key Responsibilities: These include the following but are not limited to the job specifications contained herein. Supervisory personnel may require additional duties or job functions that can be performed safely.

• Provide asset and portfolio-level financial analysis and market research supporting Asset Managers and Portfolio Managers including cashflow modeling and analysis support
• Assist with hold/sell analyses and transactional support for dispositions and refinancing, including buyer Q&A and requests for information.
• Develop a working knowledge of the properties, loan documents, partnership agreements, leases, and other agreements to assist with general responsibilities.
• Support commercial leasing, including lease proposal analysis and tenant/broker coordination.
• Participate in regular calls to review portfolio and property performance.
• Support monthly and quarterly reporting activities to executives, investors, lenders and other constituencies and related Q&A.
• Provide monthly financial and variance analysis for the assigned portfolio and properties.
• Manage, track, and organize requisite real estate tax status and processes across the portfolio.
• Assist with loan and reserve administration, and lender/servicer interface.
• Additional duties or job functions as deemed necessary.

Primary Requirements Include:

• The successful candidate will have a strong academic background with a college degree. Bachelor’s degree plus 1 to 2 years of relevant real estate and/or finance experience is preferred.
• Superior analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills.
• An investment mindset with a thorough understanding of financial calculations such as NPV, DCF, and IRR.
• Proficiency with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Argus DCF required. Experience with Yardi, OPS Technology, Axiometrics, and/or LRO is a plus.
• Good written and verbal presentation and communication skills.
• A team player who can operate effectively within a matrix management environment.
• Ability to balance competing priorities while meeting multiple deadlines.
• Successfully work with time-sensitive, detail-oriented material.
• Ability to travel up to 10%, either by driving an automobile or commercial flying. Travel may require overnight stays.
