Job summary

Bartel Executive Search is assisting a prominent Milwaukee-based real estate developer in recruiting an Accounting Supervisor. The role leads a small accounting team, manages monthly close, and supports internal accounting functions in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance, 3+ years in CRE accounting, and strong Excel/ERP skills, with a proactive, detail-oriented mindset. Compensation includes strong benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• At least 3 years of experience in commercial real estate accounting.
• Experience leading a team or sub-function.
• Familiarity with ERP systems (Yardi desirable).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Deadline-oriented with solid organizational capabilities.
• Independent problem solver with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a team of 2–3 accounting assistants.
• Coordinate and review financial reporting processes in GAAP.
• Approve annual reconciliations for triple net lease structures.
• Review and authorize updates to tenant escrow billing.
• Manage reconciliations for multiple bank accounts.
• Maintain and oversee fixed asset accounting within the ERP.
• Drive process optimization and technology utilization initiatives.
• Collaborate across teams to resolve financial inquiries.
• Support other finance-related projects as assigned.
