Job description

Operates ready mix trucks in a safe and professional manner in the plant yard, on public highways/roads, and at various job sites to deliver products. Deliveries will be made in both commercial and residential areas.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
  • Maintains and operates equipment in a clean and safe condition.
  • Reports to work on time.
  • Performs thorough pre and post-trip truck inspections.
  • Verifies general compliance with mix specifications after loading and at job site.
  • Drives Ready Mix Truck safely to location for unloading.
  • Operates Ready Mix Truck to place concrete in specified area as directed by customer.
  • Washes Ready Mix Truck in specified wash-out areas to avoid concrete build-up in the mixer barrel as well as the exterior of mixer.
  • Other duties as directed by supervisor.
Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
  • One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Work Requirements

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to operate an electronic device such as a tablet.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to work well with others in a group or one-on-one setting.
  • Will be subject to drug testing, medical exams, and physical agilities testing.

Knowledge/Skill Requirements

  • Must possess a valid state commercial driver's license (CDL) Class A or Class B.
  • Must possess a valid Medical Card as per DOT standard.
