Job Summary

The Ready-Mix Plant Manager works closely with the batch men and drivers in overseeing ready-mix plant production, operations, and site facilities. This individual is responsible for planning and budgeting, effective and efficient operations management, equipment utilization, safety and environmental compliance, as well as personnel management. This position ensures that customer quality requirements are met.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for safety, environmental matters, cost control, production, and maintenance for the ready-mix facilities.
  • Establish and monitor a production plan, maintain accurate cost and inventory control, analyze productivity and materials data.
  • Document production statistics and produce reports and analysis.
  • Oversee mobile equipment.
  • Manage capital and operating budgets.
  • Develop plans for improved performance and reduced operating costs.
  • Ensure quality processes are in place to provide high-quality products.
  • Perform duties related to OSHA/CalPortland safety regulations, including accident investigations and safety training.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure safety, environmental compliance, and quality.
  • Maintain positive relationships with the local community.
  • Personnel management and development.
Education
  • BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Mining, Civil Engineering, or equivalent preferred.
  • Relevant operations management certifications are a plus.
Requirements/Qualifications
  • 5-7 years’ experience in ready-mix operations, including yard production and product delivery.
  • Knowledge of OSHA/MSHA and DOT regulations.
  • Experience managing employees across multiple locations.
  • Experience training drivers and managing customer service issues.
  • Personnel management experience, including hiring, performance reviews, and legal compliance, is a plus.
  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Customer service orientation.
Preferred
  • Experience in a vertically integrated construction materials organization.
  • Experience with SAP.
Conditions of Employment

Successful candidates must pass pre-employment physical, drug/alcohol screening, and background checks. Some roles require ongoing drug and alcohol testing regulated by FMCSA.
