Ready Mix Truck Driver - Job Description

Responsibilities

1. Daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections
2. Safe delivery of ready-mix concrete from plant to job site in our modern fleet of Concrete Mixers
3. Employee is required to go up access ladder to wash hopper and fins after loading and unloading
4. Employee is required to be able to put on concrete chutes for unloading the concrete (approximately 40-50 lbs) 4 per truck
5. Truck cleanliness is the responsibility of the driver and is a daily requirement
6. Non-delivery tasks when time is available will include general cleaning, basic truck maintenance, use of small power tools, manual labor, and other essential tasks
7. Occasionally operate other pieces of heavy equipment as needed
8. Establish and maintain a professional and friendly relationship with customers, clients, management, and co-workers
9. Comply with all CDL Truck Drivers' safety requirements and policies, as well as report any unsafe conditions, accidents, or incidents immediately

Qualifications

1. Self-motivated, excellent time management skills
2. Ability to work flexible hours and shifts, being reliable and punctual
3. Ability to work rotating Saturday shifts
4. Willing to work in all weather conditions
5. Proficient trade skills including basic electrical knowledge, welding, torching, and steel fabrication
6. Experience operating heavy equipment, including haul trucks, front-end loaders, dozers, and excavators
7. Ability to read and write English
8. Ability to use GPS

Requirements

1. Valid State-Issued Driver’s License, Class A or B
2. Must be able to meet the Company’s insurance carriers' requirements to be insurable
3. Pass pre-employment drug screening
4. DOT Medical card

We specialize in providing building materials to the greater Darke County market, including Miami, Shelby, Auglaize, Mercer, Montgomery, Preble, and Randolph counties. PEPCON, our ready-mix division, is strategically located in Bradford, Versailles, Union City, and will soon be opening a location in Brookville, to provide our customers with just-in-time building materials. Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role located in Bradford and Brookville, OH for a Ready Mix Driver. The Ready Mix Driver will be responsible for operating and driving a truck equipped with a concrete mixer to deliver ready-mix concrete to customer sites. The driver will also be responsible for ensuring the quality and consistency of the concrete and maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of the truck.

Qualifications

• Valid commercial driver's license (CDL Preferred) and a clean driving record
• Experience operating and driving a truck with a concrete mixer
• Knowledge of the principles and procedures for mixing ready-mix concrete
• Ability to read and understand delivery tickets and follow instructions
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Ability to perform routine maintenance and inspections on the truck
• Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy materials
• Attention to detail and commitment to safety
• High school diploma or equivalent
