Job summary

Zemba Bros., Inc. in Ohio is hiring a Ready Mix Driver I to operate a concrete mixer and deliver to residential and commercial clients.

  • Clean and wash mixer after deliveries.
  • Carry 50+ lbs.
  • Light yard and shop duties as assigned.

Job Summary

The Ready Mix Driver I is responsible for operating a Company concrete mixer while transporting and properly unloading materials to and from various locations to service residential and commercial clients.

Essential Functions

  • Conduct daily pre-shift and post-shift vehicle inspection and report deficiencies to shop immediately.
  • Report improper operation, faulty equipment and unusual conditions to the Maintenance Manager utilizing the proper vehicle inspection report paperwork.
  • Operate concrete mixer to and from pre-designated work sites based on daily routing information, following detailed directives on work orders.
  • Maintain telephone or radio contact with dispatch to receive additional instructions and changes to work locations etc.
  • Ability to differentiate between mixes, grades, sizes and textures of materials.
  • Ability to perform an air and slump evaluation of concrete, giving recommendations on modifications needed.
  • Maintains cognitive awareness of immediate surroundings, ensuring that power lines, trees and other obstacles are accounted for as maneuvering and unloading of materials in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Ensures the speed and direction of the concrete mixer, unloading materials via front and rear discharge in a controlled manner.
  • Responsible to safely and thoroughly comply with all hand signals and movements from co-workers, keeping eye contact when backing up and unloading materials.
  • Ensures that concrete mixer is thoroughly cleaned and washed after each delivery, or as directed.
  • Ability to carry 50+ lbs.
  • All other duties as assigned, including but not limited to light yard and shop maintenance.

Safety

Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Manual of Safety Practices and Procedures.

Travel

Travel to job sites is required as needed.
