Job summary

CRH is seeking an RMC Driver Foreperson in the Grand Junction area to train new Ready Mix Drivers, oversee daily deliveries, and assist with job-site access and coordination. This role entails operating a truck safely in yards, on roads, and at various job sites, serving both commercial and residential customers.

Responsibilities include training, safety coaching, route monitoring, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • CDL Class A required with Air Brakes Endorsement.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

Position Overview

RMC Driver Foreperson – Initial and continued training of new Ready Mix Drivers including documented training records, CDL training & safety coaching. Position will also assist with job site access, coordination, and daily deliveries. Operates truck in a safe and professional manner in the plant yard, on public highways/roads, and at various job sites to deliver products. Deliveries will be made in both commercial and residential areas.

Wage Range

$27 to $31 per hour based on experience

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties And Functions)
  • Initial New Hire Training for driver essential duties and responsibilities
  • Maintains equipment in a safe and clean condition.
  • Performs pre and post‑trip truck and trailer inspections
  • Drives truck to location for unloading
  • Cleans truck after delivery to prevent buildup of materials on truck
  • Review of driver safety scores and video events with documented coaching
  • Host scheduled safety meetings & toolbox talks
  • Annual road tests of Agg/Asphalt & Transport Driver Fleet
  • Routine vehicle audits for required maintenance and cleanliness
  • Electronic device training and troubleshooting.
  • Monitor route efficiencies and truck counts.
  • Keep up to date with FMCSA regulations
  • CDL Trainer.
  • Smith Driver Trainer
  • Other duties as directed by supervisor.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Must have a valid Class A CDL
  • Air Brakes Endorsement

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
  • 1-2 years related experience is preferred.
Work Requirements
  • Must be 18 years in age or older.
  • Must pass pre‑employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check.
  • Report to the job site dressed appropriately and ready to begin work at the designated start time.
  • Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Willingness to work independently within in a team environment and assist the team with other duties as required.
  • Ability to work under occasional supervision.
  • Superior organizational skills and detail oriented to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Must uphold company values and have a positive attitude with employees, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Ability to independently prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects and meet deadlines.
Language Skills
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
Mathematical Skills
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to work well with others in a group or one on one setting.
