Job summary

Croell, Inc. in Cody, Wyoming, is seeking a Ready Mix Driver who can safely operate a concrete mixer, ensure quality, and maintain strong customer relations. This full-time role offers overtime opportunities and requires a CDL, clean DOT record, and reliable performance.

You will complete pre- and post-trip inspections, document trips on tablets, and collaborate with a supportive team across multiple projects. Training is available for candidates new to ready mix or CDL.

Qualifications

• Consent to pre-employment screen, MVR, and drug test.
• CDL Class A or B with valid Medical DOT card is required.
• Wear of personal protective equipment per policy.
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Dependable, punctual, and reliable with a positive attitude.
• Occasional overnight travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate ready mix truck following DOT regs and dispatcher directions.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and report maintenance needs.
• Identify mix design differences and verify load size and slump, make adjustments as needed.
• Washdowns and drum rinses at job sites and on return to plant.
• Provide excellent customer service and collect payments as needed.
• Keep vehicles, plant, and shop clean and organized; perform routine maintenance.
• Complete paperwork on tablets or cell phones (time reporting, trip tickets, etc.).
• Be a team player willing to cross-train (dispatching, batching, mechanics, etc.).
• Perform additional duties outside normal scope as required.

Overview

A ready mix driver delivers short‑haul concrete, returning home each evening. The role involves managing concrete quality, maintaining customer relations, and working collaboratively with a supportive team across diverse projects. Training is available for candidates without ready mix experience or a CDL.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate ready mix truck, complying with DOT regulations and following the most efficient routes directed by the Dispatcher or Plant Manager.
• Complete pre‑ and post‑trip inspections to ensure compliance with DOT standards (air brakes, oil, tire pressure, lighting, permits, safety kit, logbook, etc.) and report maintenance issues.
• Identify mix design differences, visually inspect the mix, verify load size, check slump, and make appropriate adjustments.
• Perform washdowns at job sites as directed and drum rinses and chipping upon return to plant.
• Provide excellent customer service, communicate professionally, and collect payment.
• Maintain vehicles, plant, and shop to promote a clean, organized, and safe workplace; perform regular maintenance on trucks and equipment.
• Complete all required paperwork using tablets or cell phones (pre‑trip inspections, time reporting, trip tickets, etc.).
• Demonstrate a team‑player mentality and willingness to cross‑train (dispatching, batching, mechanics, etc.).
• Perform duties outside the normal scope of work as required.

Requirements
