Job summary

Idaho Materials & Construction, a CRH Company, is hiring for a Ready Mix Truck Operator in Idaho. Ensure safe operation in plant yard, on roads, and at job sites, delivering concrete to commercial and residential areas. Responsibilities include pre/post-trip inspections, aligning mixer drums, and unloading concrete with proper chute placement.

Qualifications include a valid CDL Class A or B and a DOT medical card. Preferred HS diploma or GED with 1–2 years of related experience.

  • Must possess a valid state commercial driver's license (CDL) Class A or Class B.
  • Must possess a valid Medical Card as per DOT standard.
  • Education/Experience: HS diploma or GED preferred; 1–2 years related experience or training.

Responsibilities

  • Operate ready mix trucks safely in the plant yard, on public highways/roads, and at job sites.
  • Deliver products in both commercial and residential areas.
  • Perform pre- and post-trip truck inspections and verify mix specifications.
  • Align mixer drum and receive product into the mixer truck drum.
  • Drive to locations and unload concrete; clean truck after delivery to prevent hardening.
  • Place and operate chutes to deliver product as directed and perform other duties as assigned.

Position Overview

Operates ready mix trucks in a safe and professional manner in the plant yard, on public highways/roads, and at various job sites to deliver products. Deliveries will be made in both commercial and residential areas.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties And Functions)
  • Maintains equipment in a safe and clean condition.
  • Perform pre- and post-trip truck inspections.
  • Verify general compliance with mix specifications after loading and at job site.
  • Aligns mixer drum under disbursement chute at the plant to receive product into the mixer truck drum.
  • Drive ready mix truck to location for unloading.
  • Operate ready mix truck to release concrete down truck chute into area to be poured with concrete.
  • Cleans truck after delivery to prevent concrete from hardening in mixer and on truck
  • Places and operates chutes to deliver product where directed.
  • Other duties as directed by supervisor.

Education/Experience
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
  • One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Knowledge/Skill Requirements

  • GRIP - with at least 75 lbs. of force
  • CLIMBING - in, around, and on equipment
  • HEAVY LIFTING - of extremely awkward parts and equipment up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist
  • CARRYING - awkward parts and equipment up to 50 lbs. for 50 feet or more
  • HIGH LIFT - of up to 50 lbs. floor to shoulder
  • AWKWARD LIFT - of up to 35 lbs. shoulder to away from body
  • FLEXIBILITY - awkward reaches
  • BALANCE – including standing and walking on extremely slick and uneven surfaces while carrying.
  • VISION - 20/40 corrected vision to see moving safety hazards, moving equipment, vehicles, and obstructions
  • HEARING – corrected to hear verbal safety warnings and instructions from coworkers
