Position Details

• Reports To: Quality Control Manager
• Location: North side of Indianapolis, based out of Westfield plant

Job Description

As a quality control technician, you will ensure the quality and consistency of our ready-mix concrete through on-site and lab testing, ensuring compliance with ASTM, ACI, and job-specific standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform field testing on freshly mixed concrete for workability, slump, air content, temperature, and other properties.
• Communicate with customers on job sites, relay relevant information, and assist in managing pours and directing trucks.
• Sample and test hardened concrete specimens for strength, density, and durability.
• Accurately document and record all test results and activities.
• Monitor production processes, adjust mix designs as needed, and collaborate with teams to troubleshoot and optimize.
• Adhere to safety protocols and quality procedures at all times.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Ability to interpret technical specifications and communicate effectively.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
• Physical stamina for outdoor work and lifting heavy materials.
• Basic math skills.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Experience and Education

• At least 1 year of experience as a concrete field testing technician or similar in construction.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in concrete technology preferred.
• Knowledge of concrete testing methods, equipment, and ASTM/ACI standards.
