Ampact is seeking Reading Corps tutors to help students become strong readers at local schools. You’ll deliver proven activities, coach students daily, and transfer skills back to the classroom with ongoing support from a dedicated onsite coach.
Roles follow a structured 20-minute tutoring model with 35 hours per week, daytime hours on weekdays, and benefits including health insurance and education supports through AmeriCorps.

Join Reading Corps as a Reading Tutor and you’ll spend your days at a local school helping students improve their skills. We’ll train you to deliver proven activities and coach you every step of the way!
How does it work? Every school day you’ll see pairs of students for 20 minutes of reading practice. When your time together is up, you’ll help your students return to their classroom(s) and pick up your next pair for tutoring. You’ll repeat until all your students are served.
With the extra attention and support, incredible growth happens. As your students build their skills and confidence, you’ll be there to encourage, celebrate, and cheer them on!

We are currently hiring for the 2026-27 school year. Positions run August 2026–June 2027.
Part-time positions are also available at 25 hours per week!
AmeriCorps positions include a total service-hour commitment for the program year. Most hours are completed through regular site-based service; members work with program staff to plan their schedule and may occasionally complete approved service or training outside of the school day as needed.
Full-time AmeriCorps members receive a paycheck (stipend) every two weeks. Compensation: $15.75 per hour served and additional perks!
