Job summary

New Beginnings High School is seeking a Reading Teacher to supervise, educate and support students using a blended learning approach that combines traditional classroom instruction with online and hybrid methods. This 11-month exempt position reports to Campus Directors/Pilot Director requires Florida certification, strong communication, and a commitment to inclusive, data-driven instruction.

You will develop lessons aligned with state standards, administer assessments, and engage families

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university
• Florida Educator’s Certificate in the subject you will teach
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Background check and fingerprinting clearance
• Evidence of ongoing professional development
• Knowledge of computer software and hardware (spreadsheets, word processing, databases, presentation software)
• Valid Florida driver's license, reliable transportation and automobile insurance

Responsibilities

• Attend community service and outreach activities throughout the year
• Manage all aspects of the blended learning classroom for the assigned subject area
• Create a learning environment conducive to student achievement and development
• Develop lessons aligned with State Standards
• Present instructional content in an engaging manner
• Enhance lessons with varied questioning
• Maintain a respectful, inclusive classroom
• Use positive behavior system to manage student behavior
• Collaborate with support staff and differentiate instruction
• Develop and administer assessments and customize learning plans
• Assess progress toward objectives and goals
• Conduct home visits to evaluate truancy and performance
• Provide excellent customer service
• Direct para-professionals, volunteers, and student workers
• Assist with recruitment, marketing, and community relations
• Participate in school meetings and pilot programs
• Use multiple SIS systems to monitor virtual student progress
• Engage daily with students across platforms
• Maintain student data for academic growth
• Maintain a safe and orderly classroom
• Support NBHS staff and students in person and virtually
• Contribute to the mission via home visits
• Update the Teacher Reference & Procedures Manual
• Perform other duties as assigned
