Job summary

Boston Speech Therapy, a locally owned and therapist-led practice, seeks a Reading Specialist for a full-time, in-person position. You will administer assessments, develop individualized literacy plans, and provide focused reading instruction to a 27-student caseload.

The role emphasizes evidence-based methods, collaboration with teachers and families, and meticulous progress tracking. Qualifications include an MA Reading Specialist license (OG/Wilson preferred) and prior reading specialist

Qualifications

• Valid MA Reading Specialist license or equivalent for classroom reading intervention.

Since we are owned and operated by therapists, we understand the unique needs of therapists. Boston Speech Therapy is looking for a Reading Specialist to join our team for a full-time, in-person position. In this role, you will provide individualized support to students facing challenges with reading and literacy. Your expertise will help foster strong reading skills and promote a love for learning. The position is full-time and pays $85 per hour. The total caseload is currently 27 students. Working hours are 7:15 AM-2:15 PM, and the position is available to start ASAP.

Responsibilities

• Administer assessments to evaluate students' reading levels and identify specific needs
• Develop and implement tailored instructional plans that address individual student challenges
• Provide one-on-one or small group reading instruction focusing on fluency, comprehension, and phonics
• Employ a range of evidence-based teaching strategies and materials to enhance learning
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and specialists to monitor progress and modify instruction as necessary
• Keep detailed records of student progress and assessment results

Requirements

• Must have an MA Reading Specialist/Teacher License
• OG and Wilson Certified preferred
• Previous experience as a Reading Specialist or in a related educational role
• Strong grasp of evidence-based reading instruction methods
• Ability to assess individual student needs and develop effective intervention strategies
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Flexibility in adapting instruction to meet diverse learning needs
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
