The Pinnacle School in Stamford, CT is seeking a Reading Specialist to help students with language-based learning differences develop literacy skills and confidence. You will deliver tailored, evidence-based instruction within a collaborative team to support individualized goals.

Requirements include a Master’s degree with CT 102 Remedial Reading and Remedial Language Arts certification or eligibility, plus experience with IEPs, progress monitoring, and data collection.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree and CT 102 Remedial Reading and Remedial Language Arts certification or eligibility.
• Training or certification in Orton-Gillingham, Wilson Reading System, or another structured multi-sensory literacy approach.
• Minimum of two years of experience with students with special education needs and language-based learning differences.
• Experience with IEP implementation, progress monitoring, and educational data collection.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills with a commitment to helping students of all abilities succeed.

Responsibilities

• Deliver individualized and small-group reading interventions using evidence-based, multi-sensory instructional practices.
• Monitor student progress, analyze data, and adjust instruction to support growth toward IEP goals.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, families, and school districts to ensure coordinated student support.
• Develop engaging lessons that address each student's unique strengths, challenges, and learning profile.
• Maintain accurate documentation, participate in team meetings, and contribute to a positive learning environment.

As a Reading Specialist at Pinnacle School, you'll help students with language-based learning differences develop the literacy skills and confidence they need to thrive. Working alongside a collaborative team of educators and specialists, you'll deliver individualized, evidence-based instruction that empowers students to reach their full potential.

What You'll Need

• Master’s degree and valid Connecticut State 102 Remedial Reading and Remedial Language Arts certification or eligibility for Connecticut licensure
• Training or certification in Orton-Gillingham, Wilson Reading System, or another structured multi-sensory literacy approach
