Job summary

Green Tree School & Services in Philadelphia seeks a Reading Specialist to support students with autism and emotional support needs. You will deliver targeted literacy instruction, assess progress, and collaborate with teachers to build literacy-rich classrooms where every student can grow as a reader and communicator.

Requires a Master’s degree in Education, PA Reading Specialist certification, and at least two years of teaching experience, preferably in special education.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Education or related field required.
• Pennsylvania Reading Specialist Certification (Instructional I or II) required.
• Minimum of two years teaching experience, preferably in special education.
• Knowledge of literacy intervention strategies and individualized reading instruction.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and data analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess student literacy levels and identify instructional needs through screening and diagnostics.
• Provide individualized and small-group reading instruction to support IEP goals.
• Collaborate with teachers and paraeducators to model effective literacy strategies.
• Develop and monitor reading and writing interventions that promote measurable progress.
• Maintain accurate data, reports, and communication with families and interdisciplinary teams.

Education

Master's degree in Education or related field

Pennsylvania Reading Specialist Certification (Instructional I or II)
