Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.
• Minimum of three years teaching experience.
• Reading Endorsement completed and on certificate.
• Demonstrated reading expertise at appropriate level.
• State certification in Elementary, Primary, or Secondary coaching areas.
• Other qualifications as deemed acceptable by law and School Board.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate knowledge of child development.
• Understand prescribed reading curriculum and interventions.
• Provide effective reading intervention strategies.
• Support varied learning styles and levels.
• Communicate with students, parents, and teachers.
• Assist in planning intervention activities.
• Collaborate with peers, teachers, administrators, and literacy coaches.
• Provide instructional support to students.
• Coordinate and support district/state testing programs.
• Engage in Professional Learning Communities (PLC).
• Review data to support small group instruction.
