Hillsborough County Public Schools — Wimauma Elementary in Wimauma, Florida is seeking a Literacy Coach to support reading instruction district-wide. The coach will guide ELA/Reading teachers, oversee implementation of the Reading Plan, and ensure compliance with Florida and federal requirements.

The role emphasizes professional development, data-driven instruction, and collaboration with school leaders to improve student reading outcomes and literacy programs across the campus.

Qualifications

• Three years of classroom teaching experience, with two years of related management or supervisory experience required.
• Florida Professional Educator Certificate with Reading Endorsement or Reading Certification required.
• Educational Leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides instructional coaching to ELA/Reading classroom teachers to improve reading instruction and student outcomes.
• Develops and conducts staff development for classroom teachers.
• Maintains and monitors implementation of Hillsborough County Public Schools’ K-12 Comprehensive Evidenced-Based Reading Plan as approved by the state.
• Demonstrates a strong working knowledge of best practices in literacy instruction.
• Develops and conducts professional development for targeted audiences in the content area of literacy instruction.
• Provides coaching to targeted audiences to improve literacy instruction and classroom organization and management.
