Job summary

Management & Training Corporation is hiring for Instructor, Academic HSD & Reading Instructor at the Earle C. Clements Job Corps Center in Morganfield, KY.

Full-time position with an annual wage of $42,072 and a standard 8-hour shift, Monday through Friday. The role requires a Bachelor's Degree and a valid teaching certificate with experience working with youth; one year of instructional experience is preferred, plus a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required and teaching certification.
• Experience with youth and strong communication/computer proficiency.
• One year instructional experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic instruction to students in accordance with approved curricula.
• Provide students with basic direction in compliance with government and management directives.
• Motivate and counsel students in behavior, training, and study habits; coordinate with staff.
• Develop and prepare lessons; recommend curricula changes and supplemental materials.
• Relate academic skills to career-technical training and workplace requirements.
• Review and audit areas for contractual compliance and prepare related reports.

What you will be doing:

You'll be responsible for providing academic instruction to students in accordance with approved curricula. Provide students with basic direction, in compliance with government and management directives.

Essential Functions

• Provide students with basic direction, instruction and assistance in designated area(s) of instruction.
• Motivate and counsel students in areas of behavior, training, personal problems or study habits; coordinate with other staff as necessary to resolve issues affecting student training.
• Develop and prepare lessons; recommend curricula changes and supplemental materials.
• Utilize workplace language and behavior expectations in the classroom; on a routine basis, relate academic skills to career technical training and workplace requirements; inquire if individual students need assistance.
• Review and audit all assigned areas regularly for contractual compliance and effectiveness of delivery of services to students. Prepare related reports.

Education And Experience Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree
• Valid teaching certificate, experience with youth, and communication/computer proficiency.
• One (1) year instructional experience preferred.
• A Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
