Job summary

Sylvan Learning Center is seeking enthusiastic elementary reading and English tutors for after-school programs at two local elementary schools. You will lead instruction in small groups (≤8) using pre-planned lessons, focusing on reading and writing and ensuring alignment with the school calendar.

This is a part-time, on-site role with competitive pay and opportunities for development. Qualifications include a four-year degree and teaching credentials, with preferred experience in reading

Qualifications

• Minimum of one or two years of teaching experience preferred.

Reading and Writing Teachers Wanted for Fun After-School Tutoring!

Sylvan Learning Center is looking for fun, dedicated teachers to help and inspire students. We are currently looking for elementary reading and English tutors who are able to teach reading and writing at a variety of grade levels for after-school programs at two local elementary schools.

Sylvan has a program specifically designed to meet students' needs by building a strong foundation. Working with small, homogenous groups of no more than 8 students, our reading, writing and English tutors are responsible for leading instruction and motivating students to be successful. There are no lesson plans to create, no homework to grade, no parent-conferencing, and scheduling aligns with the school district calendar so you won't work holidays. Enjoy all of the benefits of teaching ELA, without any of the downsides!

What you should know

• If you enjoy teaching, working with, and inspiring students, this is the job for you. (We want you to be happy here!)
• You will use pre-planned lessons. They are straightforward, easy to manage, and fun to teach
• Teach students in a small group setting. There will be no more than 8 students per teacher
• Weekly schedule is Mondays from 2:00-4:30pm and Wednesdays from 3:00-5:30pm
• This is NOT a remote position
