Job summary

Sherwin-Williams in Los Angeles is seeking a production technician to manufacture batches, operate forklift equipment, monitor batch quality, and follow all plant procedures and safety rules.

The role includes a bonus plan, comprehensive health benefits (medical, dental, vision), FSAs, retirement options, and generous time off. Schedule: Shift 2, Mon-Fri 3:00pm–11:30pm, with opportunities to participate in safety and quality programs.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least eighteen years old and legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Able to troubleshoot simple equipment problems and read/write work instructions.
  • Experience with prestage raw materials and batch tracking functions.
  • Able to operate a forklift and comply with safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Chemical batch processing: charge batches, monitor processing, document progress, perform in-process and final QC testing, and transfer batches.
  • Operate material handling equipment including forklifts.
  • Read, understand, and execute work instructions and written procedures.
  • Complete takt time documentation and enter downtime reason codes in the control system.
  • Follow EHS regulations and SMART and other safety programs.
  • Program label and ink jet printers; perform housekeeping and other tasks as directed.

Additional Information:

Schedule: Shift 2 Monday - Friday 3:00pm - 11:30pm

This position is also eligible for a bonus based on performance and subject to the terms of the Company’s applicable plans.

Responsibilities
  • Chemical batch processing. Charge batches, monitor processing, document progress on cooklogs and other forms, perform in-process and final QC testing, filter and transfer batches to storage or drumming/totting operations
  • Operate material handling equipment including fork trucks
  • Ability to read, understand, and execute work instructions and written procedures
  • Complete takt time documentation and enter reason codes for downtime in process control system
  • Follow all E,H&S regulations and guidelines
  • Actively participate in SMART and other safety programs
  • Program label and ink jet printers
  • Perform and participate in general housekeeping activities
  • Participation towards completion of other related tasks and duties as directed or needed
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future
  • Must have the ability to troubleshoot simple equipment problems
  • Must have experience with prestage raw materials and verify raw material codes before use
  • Must have experience with Batch Tracking functions
  • Must be able to operate a forklift
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Have a Associates degree or two (2) year technical degree in chemical operations
