Job summary

Southern Nuclear’s Vogtle 3&4 site in Waynesboro, GA seeks an experienced Reactor Engineer to support operation through reactor core monitoring, SNM control, fuel movement, and core analysis software. The role requires strong communication, on-call readiness, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards.

Ideal candidates hold a BS in Engineering (ABET-accredited) or a PE; nuclear engineering is strongly preferred, with prior reactor-plant qualification and Westinghouse methods experience

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering from ABET-accredited college or university or PE license.
• Nuclear Engineering degree strongly preferred.
• Previous reactor engineer qualification at an operating facility is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in reactor core monitoring and power maneuvers.
• Support surveillance and testing of technical specifications for reactor operation.
• Develop and implement reactor engineering procedures and processes.
• Operate and maintain core monitoring software.
• Support reactivity management and fuel movement activities.
