A technology services company is seeking an Architect to work on high-profile web applications primarily for the Child Care and Child Welfare section of DCF. The ideal candidate will have strong skills in Angular 1.4, React, and Vue.Js. The position is mostly remote, requiring the candidate to be located in Wisconsin or willing to relocate prior to starting. Responsibilities include design, development, and testing of both front-end and back-end applications. Knowledge of OIDC and TDD methodologies is preferred.

  • Candidate MUST be a WI resident or willing to relocate to WI prior to starting the role at their own expense. Local candidates preferred. This position is currently remote. However, position status is subject to change. (90% remote 10% onsite as needed) Onsite work is not likely, but candidate should be prepared to come onsite if required.

Description :

This position is primarily to work on a high-profile web application project within the Child Care and Child Welfare (CCCW) section of DCF. There are multiple projects underway which include an Enterprise-wide migration effort to a unified authentication platform using Okta which will require the candidates to have strong experience and working knowledge of OIDC and be able to implement secure authentication flows and project sensitive APIs using access tokens; additionally experience with identity and access management platforms such as Okta is preferred. Other projects in flight and upcoming include.NET MVC and .NET 8web applications with some use of JavaScript, Blazor, and Kendo UI components, and the candidate will be joining an existing team. A vast majority of the portfolio is modernized off legacy mainframe applications to web applications usingASP.NET MVC with C#,WebAPI, n-tier architecture and SQL Server. This developer will work on other projects as needed.

The person in this position will work closely with the team in designing and developing the front end and server side of the web application. Project duties include requirements analysis, design, front-end and back-end web application development, testing, participation in interactive code reviews, and development using JavaScript, ASP.NET MVC with C#, with SQL Server, DB2, and Oracle databases. Expectations for this position aredevelopment of quality code using TDD, participation in active code reviews, sharing expertise, respectful communication, transparency, technical documentation, and the ability to perform production support.

Preference will be given for familiarity with automated testing methodologies,GitLab or Jenkins or other continuous integrationplatforms and solid coding experience using TDD.

Knowledge of DCF programs, prior experience with the Wisconsin CARES system and familiarity with State of Wisconsin application systems, procedures, and development standards is highly preferred and familiarity with the DCF YoungStar application is a plus.
