Descripción del empleo

React Native Lead / Architect (hands-on)
The Role

A hands-on Mobile Architect accountable for the technical success of a customer's mobile program, not just advising on it. You will own the architecture, raise the engineering bar for the whole team, and personally build and unblock the hardest parts. You will work with product, UX, backend, QA and senior client stakeholders, and hold your ground on technical decisions, with data, in front of the client.

What You'll Do
  • Lead design and implementation of a cross-platform React Native application for iOS and Android
  • Write production code daily, including features, native modules, and tooling, and contribute to the team's coding standards
  • Define and maintain mobile architecture, including navigation, state management, offline behavior, and native module integration
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automate deployment processes for app store releases and phased rollouts
  • Lead remote engineering teams across time zones, setting clear priorities, communicating decisions, and unblocking work asynchronously
  • Mentor and grow mobile engineers through code reviews, pairing, and regular 1:1s
  • Partner with product and design to translate business goals into scoped, testable technical plans
  • Monitor app performance and stability, and drive improvements in startup time, crash rates, and responsiveness
  • Make pragmatic build-versus-buy decisions for SDKs and third-party services, such as payments, analytics, and push notifications
  • Participate in hiring, interviewing, and onboarding of engineers

This position description identifies the responsibilities and tasks typically associated with the performance of the position. Other relevant essential functions may be required.

What You Need
  • 12+ years in software engineering; 6+ years in React Native
  • Must-have skills
    • Expert React Native, React and TypeScript, with experience building and owning complex, large-scale mobile apps.
    • Deep hands-on experience with the React Native New Architecture (Fabric, TurboModules, JSI, Codegen) and Hermes, including migrating an existing app and debugging at the bridge or native layer.
    • Strong native iOS and Android depth: write, debug and review Swift and Kotlin independently; understand lifecycle, threading, memory, permissions, background execution and push notifications; fluent with Xcode, Gradle and CocoaPods/SPM and able to resolve build-system conflicts.
    • State and data layer design at scale: Redux Toolkit, Zustand, TanStack Query, React Navigation, offline storage (SQLite, WatermelonDB, MMKV or similar), conflict resolution and sync strategies.
    • Testing and delivery: Jest, React Native Testing Library, Detox or Maestro; CI/CD with Fastlane, GitHub Actions, Bitrise or EAS; code signing and OTA strategy (CodePush or EAS Update).
    • Mobile security: secure storage, certificate pinning, token management and OWASP MASVS in practice.
    • Profiling and tuning with Flipper, Xcode Instruments, Android Profiler and Hermes
    • Mobile CI/CD, code signing, OTA updates, staged rollouts and store compliance
    • Proven record of mentoring engineers, driving coding standards and leading under client-facing pressure.
    • Strong data structures, system design and clean-code fundamentals; you will code and whiteboard live.
    • Excellent communication, able to explain trade-offs to engineers and non-technical executives.
    • Ability to lead remote teams across timezones
  • Good to have
    • Monorepos (Nx, Turborepo) * modular / micro-frontend app strategies * GraphQL, WebSockets and real-time features * accessibility (WCAG, VoiceOver/TalkBack) and design systems * Expo and EAS at scale * AWS, Azure or Firebase * BFSI, retail or healthcare domain * open-source React Native contributions * Flutter or native-first experience * AI/ML or on-device model integration
