Job summary

Sony Interactive Entertainment in San Mateo is seeking a Software Engineer II to help build the next generation of PlayStation experiences. You’ll design, develop, and test cross-platform React-based applications and contribute to core framework and shared libraries.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, translate feature requirements, ensure performance, accessibility, and reliability, and participate in Hackathons.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 4+ years of development experience building user-facing applications or systems with JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Strong proficiency in React and related tools and libraries.
• Demonstrated experience creating and maintaining cross-platform applications.
• Hands-on experience with Webpack, Babel, Jest or similar.
• Familiarity with GraphQL, RESTful APIs, and Docker.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
• Understanding of performance optimization, accessibility, and responsive design.
• Interest or experience applying AI/ML concepts to enhance user experiences.
• Experience with AI-powered development tools and integration.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and document React-based cross-platform applications that deliver seamless and consistent user experiences.
• Collaborate with Product Owners and Product Managers to translate feature requirements into scalable, maintainable solutions.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to define architecture and ensure best practices for performance, accessibility, and reliability.
• Write comprehensive unit and component tests to maintain product quality and prevent regressions.
• Participate in peer reviews and provide constructive feedback on design and implementation.
• Continuously improve development workflows and contribute to evolving engineering standards.
• Explore innovative ideas and emerging technologies through Hackathons and Café Days to help drive future PlayStation experiences.
