We are seeking a React and UI developer for a 12-month contract position based in Charlotte, North Carolina. In this role, you will design, develop, enhance, and maintain web applications while working across both front-end and back-end systems. You will troubleshoot performance issues, implement new technologies, write and execute tests, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver quality software.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, enhance, and maintain web applications
- Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues in APIs
- Maintain working knowledge of technical enhancements and new functionality
- Learn, adapt, test, evaluate, and implement new technologies
- Write and execute unit and integration tests
- Coordinate with release engineers to deploy new features and bug fixes into higher environments
- Provide technical documentation for APIs
- Perform code reviews and ensure code quality
- Communicate effectively with peers and leads
- Participate in team activities such as sprint planning, daily scrums, and retrospectives
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools and automation platforms to improve software design, code quality, testing, documentation, and delivery efficiency
Qualifications
- Required
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
- Minimum of 4 years of experience developing web applications using React, TypeScript, JavaScript, and JSON
- Minimum of 2 years of experience developing microservices using Python and/or Node.js
- Strong technical skills in JavaScript UI/UX frameworks, particularly React
- Strong programming skills in Python and JavaScript
- Strong knowledge of design patterns
- Experience with REST-based or GraphQL APIs from single-page applications
- Understanding of authentication and authorization aspects for APIs
- Working knowledge of Docker
- Experience with package managers (npm, pip)
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly
- Strong work ethic, self-starter mentality, and ability to work in a fast-paced, complex IT environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal abilities
- Team player with strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
- Preferred
- Swagger/Open API 3 experience
- Formal cloud-based training and industry-accredited cloud certification
- Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms
- Familiarity with Git and version control systems
