Job summary

JBS Foods in Lenoir, NC is seeking a Reach Truck / Forklift Driver to support Frozen Food Distribution. You will operate reach trucks and forklifts, move pallets, and stage products in a temperature-controlled environment.

Responsibilities include accurate scanning, labeling, and documentation; maintaining cold chain integrity; and adhering to safety guidelines while keeping the warehouse organized. Current forklift certification and 1–2 years of experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• 1–2+ years of reach truck or forklift operating experience (warehouse preferred).
• Current forklift certification.
• Experience in frozen or cold storage environments strongly preferred.
• Ability to work in temperatures ranging from 0°F to –20°F
• Proficiency with RF scanners and WMS systems
• Strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and consistency
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work at heights in racking systems

Responsibilities

• Operate reach trucks and forklifts to move, store, and stage frozen products.
• Ensure accurate scanning, labeling, and documentation for product movement.
• Follow safety guidelines, perform pre‑shift inspections, and maintain PPE.

Reach Truck / Forklift Driver – Frozen Food Distribution

($19.55-21.30/HR based on experience)

The Reach Truck / Forklift Driver plays a critical role in supporting daily warehouse operations within atemperature-controlledenvironment. This positionis responsible forsafely operating reach trucks, forklifts, and othermaterial handlingequipment to move, store, retrieve, and stage frozen products. The role ensures accuracy, efficiency, and adherence tocold chainand food safety standards whilemaintaininga clean, safe, and organized warehouse.

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities

1. Material Handling & Equipment Operation

• Safelyoperatereach trucks,sit-downforklifts, pallet jacks, and other powered industrial trucks.
• Move pallets to and from racks up tohigh reachelevations.
• Performput away, replenishment, case picking, pallet building, and staging activities.
• Follow FEFO rotation and maintain proper stock placement within assigned zones.

2. Accuracy, Quality & Documentation

• Ensure accurate scanning, labeling, and documentation for all product movement.
• Verify pallet counts, product codes, and temperature requirements.
• Report damaged product,mis-picks, or inventory discrepanciesimmediately.
• Support loading and unloading activities as needed.

3. Safety, Compliance &Cold ChainIntegrity

• Follow all OSHA, food safety,cold storage, andequipment operationguidelines.
• Conduct and document pre‑shift equipment inspections.
• Maintain safe travel speeds, clear visibility, and proper load securement.
• Wear required PPE andoperatesafely in subzero temperatures.

4. Warehouse Organization & Support

• Maintain clean aisles, dock areas, and racking zones.
• Assist with cycle counts, inventory checks, and slotting adjustments.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, leads, and team members.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and operational efficiency efforts.
