Job summary

Elite Staffing Inc. is seeking a Reach Truck Operator/Forklift to support receiving, storing, and shipping operations in our Illinois distribution environment. You will follow RF-based processes, label products, and ensure accurate cycle counts while maintaining a safety-first approach.

The role requires forklift certification and the ability to work Monday–Friday, 6:30am–3:00pm, with possible overtime. Compensation starts at $20.00–$20.75 per hour DOE, located in Niles, IL 60714.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent experience.
• Certified forklift operator preferred.
• Safety Powered Industrial Truck Operation certificate desirable.

Job description

Reach Truck Operator/Forklift

Primarily responsible for supporting functions within the distribution environment including but not limited to shipping, receiving, returns, insert operations and other general warehouse operations. Must follow pre-determined productivity guidelines, of each department; as scheduled, in an accurate and efficient manner. Works under immediate supervision and relies on instructions and preestablished guidelines to perform the job functions.

Responsibilities

• Perform efficiently and effectively receiving & storing goods inwards following Bradford’s internal processes and procedures and using radio frequency (RF) scanners.
• Load and unload material in shipping and receiving areas.
• Load shipping lines and label product.
• Pick orders, and pack product, verify that labels correspond to product which ensures a high level of quality and productivity.
• Accurately pack and ship our customer orders to ensure we meet companys’ high expectations.
• Accurately perform cycle counts, read instructions from a scanner or computer.
• Relocate skids with merchandise using forklift, pump truck and power pallet truck.
• Achieve at least minimum acceptable performance standards set by the department.
• Adhere to safety, quality and production standards.
• Perform all assigned tasks, efficiently, and within company policy and procedures
• Read customer orders, work orders, shipping orders or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed and/or shipped.
• Operates power material handling equipment to transport materials, supplies and equipment between designated areas.
• Assists in updating a database to track the location, transfer and disposal of product.
• Communicates basic preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment that are of a safety concern.
• Maintain a safety-first environment by following basic safety procedures.

• Performs housekeeping as directed.
• Performs other jobs as needed.
• Assist team members and other departments within the warehouse as necessary.

Preferred Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent years of experience.
• 1-2 years’ work experience in the field or related work experience and/or with forklift/ pallet jack experience preferred.
• Certified forklift equipment operator.
• Successfully complete Safety Powered Industrial Truck Operation Certificate.
• Reliable team-player with a work hard, plan hard attitude and at least 18 years of age.
• Thrive in a fast -pace team environment in which perfect attendance is required.
• Experience including working with various databases, basic computer and RF scanner equipment skills.
• Experience with inventory control in a distribution environment.

630am - 3pm. Work overtime hours as needed.
