Job summary

Elite Staffing, Inc. is seeking a Lift Truck Operator I for Salisbury, NC. The role focuses on unloading inbound transfers, picking and storing pallets, maintaining a clean area, and adhering to safety policies. Must operate sit-down forklifts, use RF scanners, and work with the WMS to complete tasks.

7am–7pm shift with a starting pay of $18.13 per hour. On-site work with background/drug testing and E-verify. Opportunities for promotion to LTO II after introductory period and assessment.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years in warehouse operating lift trucks (sit-down double fork and sit-down clamp).
• Forklift driving training or on-site test demonstrating safe handling must be passed.
• Forklift training or certification preferred.
• Proficiency in two additional core Workforce Skills Program skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate all warehouse equipment including forklifts and clamp trucks to transfer finished goods.
• Load and unload trucks according to department standards.
• Move materials in a high-volume production environment.
• Support WMS functions related to inventory and load management (e.g., Pick list, PGI).
• Complete required paperwork with high accuracy and accountability.

Lift Truck Operator

As part of the warehouse team, Lift Truck Operator I (LTOI) has the knowledge and skills to assist other team members in meeting organisational needs within the warehouse. Essential job duties include, but are not limited to, unloading inbound transfers, picking up/storing product pallets, maintaining a clean work area, and adhering to all safety policies and procedures.

Requirements:

• Must have 1-2 years of warehouse experience operating lift trucks (i.e., Sit-down double fork and Sit-down clamp)
• Must satisfactorily pass the forklift driving training program or demonstrate safe handling of a forklift in an on-site test.
• Previous completion of a Forklift training program or current forklift certification is preferred.
• Must show proficiency in two (2) additional core skills of the Workforce Skills Program.
• New hires may be considered for promotion to LTO II after completing the New Hire Introductory Period and the Workforce Skills Assessment.

Skills/Abilities

• Must obtain and maintain valid Novolex Forklift and Safety Certifications during employment.
• Proficiency in operating a sit-down forklift, RF scanners, and the Warehouse Management System (WMS) for task completion.

Essential Job Duties

• Operate all warehouse equipment required to transfer finished goods and other products to the appropriate areas. All warehouse equipment includes, but is not limited to, forklifts and clamp trucks.
• Load and unload trucks efficiently following department standards.
• Moving and transferring materials and finished goods in a high-volume production environment.
• Support WMS functions related to inventory and load management (i.e., Pick list, PGI).
• Check the accuracy of the finished product count, product ID, order destination, and carrier ID before loading any vehicle and accurately complete all required paperwork
• All transfer of products and materials must be performed with a high degree of accuracy and accountability and follow the established standard processes and procedures.
• Must adhere to all safety standards, Standard Work Instruction Sheet (SWIS), and company policies.
• Maintain work area in an organised, safe, and clean manner
• All duties are performed with a focus on safety.
• Know the locations of and how to operate emergency stop buttons and fire extinguishers.
• Complete the forklift checklist, which includes daily inspection of forklifts.
• Ability to change the forklift propane tank is required.
• The job responsibilities in this job description are not all inclusive; other duties may be assigned as needed.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

• Will be exposed to hot temperatures during the summer months and cold temperatures during the winter months.
• There may be some exposure to dust inside the warehouse.
• Exposure to machine noise is possible. Ear protection is provided but not required.
