Job summary

Staffmark Group is hiring a Reach Truck Operator in Romeoville, IL. The role focuses on safely operating reach trucks and EPJ to move and organize inventory, with emphasis on accuracy and productivity in a fast-paced warehouse.

Now hiring for a Reach Truck Operator
Location: Romeoville, IL
Pay Rate: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday 6am-2:30pm & Monday-Friday 6:00pm-2:30am

If you like the hum of the reach truck and the satisfaction of a perfect stack, this job's for you. As a Reach Truck Operator in Romeoville, you'll handle freight with precision, keep aisles flowing, and be the reason the warehouse never slows down.

We are seeking dependable and safety-minded Reach Truck Drivers / EPJ Operators to join our warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently moving and organizing inventory throughout the facility while safely operating reach trucks and electric pallet jacks. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with material-handling experience who are looking for a consistent warehouse position.

Job Duties

• Safely operate reach trucks and electric pallet jacks (EPJ) to move products and materials throughout the warehouse.
• Pull, transport, stage, and put away products accurately and efficiently.
• Operate reach trucks to place and retrieve product from designated rack locations.
• Load and unload materials as directed.
• Follow all warehouse safety procedures, including proper equipment operation and pedestrian awareness.
• Communicate with supervisors and team members regarding inventory, product movement, and operational needs.
• Meet established productivity, quality, and safety expectations.
• Perform additional warehouse duties as assigned.

Experience Requirements

• 6 months to 1-year previous Reach/EPJ experience
• Experience using a RF scanning gun
• Ability to safely move, stack, retrieve, and organize palletized inventory.
• Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and material handling practices.
• Ability to accurately identify products, inventory locations, and shipping documentation.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to safety and inventory accuracy.
• Must be able to work overtime as needed, occasional weekends.
• Must be able to read and comprehend work instructions well.
• High attention to detail required.
• Must have the ability to work well with others with little supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience operating reach trucks in distribution centers or warehouse environments is preferred.
• Forklift certification or experience operating additional powered industrial equipment is beneficial.
• Experience using warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, or inventory software is considered an asset.
• Individuals who demonstrate safe operating practices, dependability, and strong teamwork are well positioned for success as a Reach Truck Operator.

Physical Capabilities

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and climb on and off powered industrial equipment throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift, move, or reposition materials weighing up 10 pounds when required. (up to 50lb assisted)
• Ability to safely work in warehouse environments with elevated storage racks and moving equipment.
• Ability to maintain awareness of surroundings while operating powered industrial vehicles.
• Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time up to hours or more
