Position Purpose

Responsible for moving product. A forklift operator at United Natural Foods must understand their lift, the loads they carry, productivity measures, and safety procedures.

Essential Functions and Duties

• Report to the shipping office at the start of each shift for assignments, vehicle inspections, and replenishment discrepancies.
• Inspect assigned lifts and complete inspection sheets.
• Replenish pick slots using system requests or manual replenishment if no requests exist.
• Assist selectors with knockdowns when needed.
• Maintain accurate counts and log discrepancies.
• Verify correct product placement in pick locations.
• Remove shrink wrap from knockdowns.
• Clear empty pallets, separate and stage them properly.
• Keep the work area clean and free of debris.
• Operate the lift safely and efficiently.
• Park and recharge the lift at the end of the shift.
• Report safety violations or policy breaches immediately.
• Follow HACCP and SQF policies as appropriate.

Skills and Abilities

• Follow receiving procedures and use Bakco and RF systems properly.
• Understand all related paperwork such as POs, Bills of Lading, and packing lists.
• Have a broad understanding of warehouse processes.
• Work overtime as needed.
