Job summary

UNFI, a leading wholesale distributor, is hiring a forklift operator to move product efficiently while adhering to safety and productivity targets. The role requires operating sit-down or stand-up forklifts, following lift procedures, and maintaining accurate inventory records.

You will begin shifts Sunday night through Thursday night with flexible scheduling. The position offers incentive pay and comprehensive benefits including PTO, holidays, and retirement plans.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Report for daily assignment and inspections at shift start.
• Inspect assigned lift and complete vehicle inspection sheet.
• Replenish pick slots and manage inventory discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate counts and log discrepancies.
• Remove shrink wrap from knockdowns and manage pallets.
• Park and recharge lift at end of shift.

Job Overview

Responsible for moving product. A forklift operator at UNFI is required to have a strong understanding of their lift, the pallets associate is carrying, productivity measures and safety procedures.

Schedule

• Sunday night - Thursday night; 11PM start time - until work is done
• Schedule depends on business needs.

Job Responsibilities And Accountabilities

• Reports to the receiving office at the beginning of each shift for the daily assignment, vehicle inspection sheet and replenishment discrepancies sheet.
• Inspects assigned lift and completes vehicle inspection sheet.
• Replenishes pick slots using the view request screen. If no requests exist, uses the manual replenish screen to fill empty or almost empty slots.
• Maintains correct counts and logs any discrepancies in inventory.
• Cuts and removes shrink wrap from all knockdowns.
• Removes all empty pallets from pick locations and aisles. Separates the good, bad, and blue pallets and neatly stages in pallet staging area.
• Parks and recharges lift in its appropriate spot at the end of the shift.

Job Requirements

• Understanding of Safety guidelines.
• Strong knowledge of applicable warehouse functions and RF systems.
• Warehouse/Operations preferred but not required.
• At least 6 months experience on sit down or stand-up forklift.
• Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.

UNFI anticipates paying the above-referenced pay rate (or within the above-referenced pay range) for this position. Actual Pay, where applicable, will depend on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, training, and any requirements under applicable collective bargaining agreements.
