Job summary

United Natural Foods, Inc. (UNFI) is seeking a dependable Forklift Operator in Gilroy, CA to move product efficiently and safely. You will understand lift capacity, pallet handling, and productivity metrics while following safety procedures.

The role requires experience with sit-down/stand-up forklifts and RF systems, with flexibility for the schedule and a strong emphasis on accuracy and teamwork in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of applicable warehouse functions and RF systems.
• Warehouse/Operations experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Reports to the receiving office at the start of each shift for daily assignments and discrepancies sheets.
• Inspects lift and completes vehicle inspection sheet.
• Replenishes pick slots using the view request screen or manual replenish screen when needed.
• Maintains accurate counts and logs inventory discrepancies.
• Removes shrink wrap from knockdowns and maintains pallet staging areas.
• Parks and recharges lift in its designated spot at shift end.

Job Overview

Responsible for moving product. A forklift operator at UNFI is required to have a strongunderstanding of their lift, the pallets associate is carrying, productivity measures and safety procedures.

Schedule

• Sunday night - Thursday night; 11PM start time - until work is done
• Schedule depends on business needs.

Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities

• Reports to the receiving office at the beginning of each shift for the daily assignment, vehicle inspectionsheet and replenishment discrepancies sheet.
• Inspects assigned lift and completes vehicle inspection sheet.
• Replenishes pick slots using the view request screen. If no requests exist, uses the manual replenishscreen to fill empty or almost empty slots.
• Maintains correct counts and logs any discrepancies in inventory.
• Cuts and removes shrink wrap from all knockdowns.
• Removes all empty pallets from pick locations and aisles. Separates the good, bad, and blue pallets andneatly stages in pallet staging area.
• Parks and recharges lift in its appropriate spot at the end of the shift.

Job Requirements

• Understanding of Safety guidelines.
• Strong knowledge of applicable warehouse functions and RF systems.
• Warehouse/Operations preferred but not required.
• At least 6 months experience on sit down or stand-up forklift.
• Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.

UNFI anticipates paying the above-referenced pay rate (or within the above-referenced pay range) for this position.
