Job summary

Colonial Middle School is seeking an Assistant Wrestling Coach to support the middle school wrestling program. Work with the Head Coach to provide structured instruction, safety, and athlete development on and off the mat.

The role is a part-time position with afternoon practices, slight travel, and a focus on instilling discipline, sportsmanship, and academic responsibility in student-athletes. Strong communication with families and staff is essential.

Qualifications

• Wrestling experience as a coach or competitor preferred
• Experience working with middle school aged students preferred
• Ability to model integrity, patience, and professionalism

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Coach in planning and running daily practices
• Managing and ensuring safe locker room use
• Teach fundamental wrestling technique, conditioning, and safe practices appropriate for middle school athletes
• Supervise athletes during practices, matches, and transportation, including dismissal until all athletes are picked up
• Support weight management practices that follow PIAA and district guidelines, with an emphasis on athlete health
• Promote sportsmanship, academic responsibility, and positive behavior
• Help maintain equipment, mats, and practice areas, including mat sanitation
• Communicate professionally with athletes, families, and the Athletic Director
• Follow all district, PIAA, and school policies

Position Overview Colonial Middle School is seeking an Assistant Wrestling Coach to support our middle school wrestling program. The Assistant Coach works alongside the Head Coach to provide safe, structured, and positive instruction that builds athletes' skills, discipline, sportsmanship, and confidence on and off the mat.

Season & Schedule

• Season: Tuesday, December 1, 2026 through Thursday, February 4, 2027
• Season Finale: Wrestling tournament on Thursday, February 4, 2027
• Practice: Monday–Friday, 2:55 PM – 5:15 PM
• Some matches and events may require additional time, including occasional travel
